Château Pigoudet wines are distinguished by their temperament, freshness, aromas and refinement.
They are made by an enthusiastic, passionate team that knows how to bring out the best in the grapes. In an attempt to surprise and provoke wine lovers around the world, they constantly challenge themselves in search of new techniques in winemaking styles.
This successful Provencal winemaking estate dates back to the 16th century and is situated on land which the Ancient Romans used for wine production.
The Château Pigoudet is located in the north of the “Côteaux d’Aix-en-Provence” wine appellation. It lies 400m above sea level. The grapes are planted on 40 hectares of south facing slopes. Sustainable viticultural practises are adopted whenever possible.
A superb wine growing estate with a story to tell:
In 1992 German entrepreneur Bernhard Schmidt and his wife Elke Schmidt decided to realise a lifelong dream of owning a vineyard and purchased Château Pigoudet. They had immediately fallen in love with the property.
Since the death of her husband, Elke Schmidt has managed the estate with her daughter Sabine Rabe and her son-in-law Hans-Ulrich Rabe. Sabine Rabe is responsible for the export.
Since 2008 this role has been taken over by Aurélien Pont. He has stepped into this role with energy and enthusiasm, always keen to come up with new ideas and put them into action. He relies on the “know how” of the winemaker and oenologist Ivan Khougazian to make claim to be one of the best vineyards of Provence.
Daniel Laugier manages the vineyard and works with passion and requirement to produce the highest quality grapes
Marcel Fritsch is responsible for sales and plays a key role in promoting Château Pigoudet wines throughout the world.
